Is Myrtle Beach a commercialized and overpriced vacation spot with corny attractions?

I dont want to get into the whole Ripleys and Gator Golf thing. I want a classy and fun vacation for me and my family. I have 4 children. We have gone to Niagara Falls and my family did not enjoy all the commercialized corny attractions that are WAAAAAAY to overpriced. Is Myrtle Beach like that?? or is it more classy

Is Kitty Hawk a good family vacation destination?

My family (4 adults & 3 kids- ages 15, 11, 11) plan on taking a trip to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina at the end of June. We’re renting a beach house, but we hardly know anything about the area!

I would like to hear some feedback about the area.
-Is there a lot to do? Like miniature golf and shopping?
-Is there a lot of restaurants near by?
-Would this make a fun AND relaxing family vacation?
