Golfing Vacations in South Africa – Breathtaking Golf Courses With Wild Safaris

Sunday, October 18th, 2009
Karl Boje asked:

If someone is looking to play golf in the extreme midst of nature then, here is the answer, South Africa. Here, nature doesn’t only mean greenery and beautiful sceneries but nature which also includes animals and an amazing wild world. A golfing vacation here can provide you a very exclusive opportunity to play golf and watch these wonders of nature together. Not only this, a golfing vacation in South Africa can offer you beauty, serenity, raw challenges and in overall, thousands of memories to cherish for rest of your life.

South Africa is one of very few destinations in the world which can offer you not only great safari tours and breath-taking beaches but also some of the best locations to play golf and chill- out. Slowly, it has acquired the number one spot as the hottest golfing destination in the minds of most of the professional golfers of the world. The reason is quite simple. Anyone in this world would love to see the nature present here in South Africa and what’s better than this if it is accompanied by a lush green golf course and some excellent facilities in them. The other reason behind the rising popularity of golfing vacations here in South Africa is that in a year, it has 300+ sunny days. Very rarely conditions are seen tough to play golf, beautiful landscapes and golf courses that are designed to bewilder even the best of the industry. With all these good things, especially a safari tour, one will only find the experience of playing golf at a golf vacation in South Africa the most congenial one.

There are around 500 golf courses in entire South Africa which are made on various locations such as coastal plains and mountains and everything in between. While on a golf vacation to South Africa, you can witness some of world’s best golf courses. An extravagant golf course in Sun City is the proud home of the world’s richest golf tournament. Everything is designed so strategically here, that it makes your golfing tour the most challenging one. Most of the golf courses are full of Kikuyu grass which makes time tough for a golfer, slick kidney shaped green area which requires not only 1000% percent concentration but also bodily power and smart presence of mind. Water hazards are placed so cleverly and shrewdly that they become almost impossible to tackle. This is all what a golfer requires in his game. All the hurdles, so that he can improve his game more and more. This golfing vacation, when accompanied by a safari-trip of south Africa comes as a dream come true for all those who are on a south African golf vacation.

The point here is that the South Africa is full of wild life and raw nature and this fact has contributed the most in making tourism, the biggest contributor in South African economy. It also has increased the popularity of golf vacations in South Africa as people come here with the joint intention of watching this wild world and also playing golf in some most modernized and lavish golf courses of the world. Both these things compliment each other as South Africa has lots of things to offer in wild life and nature and also in golfing experience while on a golf vacation to this beautiful country.

So, be sure that you choose South Africa if you are opting to go for a golf vacation. I guarantee you it will give you many other surprises other than just everlasting memories of playing golf.

Tips For Planning a Jamaica Golf Vacation

Saturday, September 5th, 2009
Richard Teesdale asked:

Are you an avid golfer? If you are, you may be interested in planning a golf vacation. While you have an unlimited number of destinations to choose from, Jamaica is one that you should closely examine.

As nice as it is to hear that Jamaica is a great destination for a golf vacation, you may be wondering why. For starters, Jamaica is a popular vacation destination that is filled with a number of high-quality resorts. This means that if you are traveling with non-golfers, such as a spouse or children, there are an unlimited number of fun things for them to do while you enjoy the day on the green. It is also important to note that you will not spend 24 hours a day golfing, so be sure to pick a destination, like Jamaica, that you will enjoy.

When planning a Jamaica golf vacation, you will need to create a budget for yourself. This is important if you will be traveling on limited funds. Determine how much money you have to spend, even if it is just a generalized estimate. Next, determine how much you would like to spend on your overnight accommodations, food, drinks, golf, and other entertainment. This can make planning your trip much easier and more affordable, as you will be concerned with costs.

When planning a Jamaica golf vacation, you will want to wisely choose your vacation destination. Since you have already decided on Jamaica, that is a start, but where in Jamaica do you want to stay? To make your decision, you will want to examine the golf courses located on the island. For example, Montego Bay is home to the White Witch Golf Course.

In addition to the above mentioned Jamaica golf course, there are two that are located right on the premises of popular all-inclusive Jamaica resorts. Located at Runaway Bay, you will find the Breezes resort. It is home to an 18-hole golf course that is of PGA quality. About 15 minutes away, you will find the Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa, which is home to a 9-hole golf course. These two resorts should be closely examined, as there are a number of benefits to staying where you golf.

One of the benefits to staying at an all-inclusive Jamaica resort with an onsite golf courses is the saved time and money. When you are automatically paired with a quality golf course, you spend less time and money traveling. As previously stated, the Breezes resort which is located in Runaway Bay and the Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa are only 15 minutes apart. This means that you could easily enjoy two golf courses, without having to travel far. In fact, that is how you are encouraged to choose your resort. You want one that is centrally located.

Returning back to the Breezes at Runaway Bay and the Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa, they are not only considered all-inclusive resorts, but super-inclusive resorts. This means that your stay includes more, but with no strings attached. If you have a spouse or children who will not be joining you in a game of golf, this can give you comfort and peace of mind in knowing they will not be bored or burdened with extra expenses back at the resort.

Next, it is important to determine when you want to travel to Jamaica for a golf vacation. Of course, the decision is yours to make, but you should keep the weather in mind. The good news is that the Caribbean is the perfect destination for a golf vacation, as the weather seems perfect just about all year round. The best temperatures in Jamaica are from May to September, as the weather is warmer. As for rain, Jamaica has two rainy seasons. Although rainfall totals are still considered low, these seasons are between May and June and then September and November.

When planning a Jamaica golf vacation, the above mentioned steps are just a few of the many you will want to take. As a recap, it is important to choose a destination that allows you to get the most out of your golf trip. That is why all-inclusive resorts should be examined.

Tips For Planning a Jamaica Golf Vacation With Friends

Friday, August 28th, 2009
Boris Ralston asked:

Do you want to plan a Jamaica golf vacation with a small group of friends? If so, the experience will be one you will never forget, but the planning stages may be something you wish you could skip. For tips on how to plan a Jamaica golf vacation with friends with ease, please continue reading on.

1 - Get a Headcount

Before you start making your Jamaica travel plans, it is important to know who is attending. If you are in charge of making arrangements never accept an “I do not know.” If you are sharing the cost of a hotel or resort room, this could seriously impact everyone’s ability to pay their share.

Instead, create a specific deadline. For example, give everyone two weeks to decide whether or not they will attend your group Jamaica golf vacation. The earlier you plan your trip, the more notice and time to think participants will have.

2 - Request Passports

Every member of your traveling party needs to have a valid passport. This is important, as it is required. If you are in charge of planning your Jamaica golf vacation with friends, simply ask once and then offer a few polite reminders. Since a passport can take one to two months to arrive, it is important to start planning your Jamaica travels early and in advance.

3 - Create a Budget

The ideal way to plan a golf vacation with friends is to spilt the cost down the middle. For example, will two people stay in one hotel room? If so, those two individuals can spilt the cost of the room and so forth. Other aspects of the trip, such as airline reservations, food, and drinks, should be paid for separately.

Since your overnight accommodation costs may be shared, it is important to create a budget. How much can each member of your traveling party afford? If traveling on a budget, remember that luxury is nice, but it isn’t a requirement.

4 - Examine Jamaica Hotels and Resorts

Once you have an idea of how much your traveling party can afford to spend on overnight accommodations, start examining your options. If possible, do not go over your budget. Search for hotels and resorts based on location and then price. Choose the most affordable option. If not traveling on a budget, opt for quality over costs.

In keeping with Jamaica hotels and resorts, those on Jamaica golf vacations are encouraged to examine super or all-inclusive resorts. These resorts are different than traditional hotels and resorts where you only pay for your room. Instead, your cost includes room, food, drinks, tips, and some forms of entertainment. If you opt for this approach, individual packages will need to be purchased, as opposed to sharing the costs.

As for why you should examine super or all-inclusive Jamaica resorts, some have onsite golf courses. In fact, green fees may already be included in the cost of your stay. Not only is this an affordable option, but it is convenient, as you do not have to leave the property to enjoy a round of golf.

5 - Examine Jamaica Golf Courses

Even if you opt to stay at a Jamaica all-inclusive resort with an onsite golf course, you may wish to spice up your trip. This means visiting other area courses. You will want to research these courses ahead of time online. First, examine the costs. Next, examine the quality of the golf course by viewing pictures or reading reviews online. Finally, decide if the Jamaica golf course in question is one you want to visit. If so, see if reservations are required.

6 - Remember the Quicker You Plan, the Better

As previously stated, a Jamaica golf vacation with friends will be fun, but the planning stages may be a nightmare. Even close friends and family members have different wants, needs, and requirements. When traveling with a group, it is important to compromise. If one member of your party is traveling on a budget, compromise and opt for an affordable hotel.

As a recap, it is important to get a headcount, request passports, review Jamaica hotels and resorts, examine Jamaica golf courses, and make your travel arrangements. After doing so, you can sit back and relax and wait for your trip to arrive.

Canada Golf Vacation - the Niagara Experience.

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Geoff Morris asked:

Are you one of these golfers who are so distracted by noise that your game goes totally to pot? Then if you are, I am very sorry, but a Canada Golf Vacation in Niagara is not for you.

To combine a visit to the seventh wonder in the world, with a very enjoyable golf vacation included, is an opportunity far too good to be missed. When I lived briefly in Michigan in the early 80’s, just outside Flint, I was amazed by the people that lived in and around Flint, but had never been to the Niagara Falls area. To me, standing on the Canadian side of the falls, almost an arms stretch away from the top of the Horseshoe Falls is such an awe-inspiring thing to do, that even as an avid golfer, all such thoughts of golf are banished from your mind, and, as you try and comprehend the massiveness of nature just a stones throw from your side, a mixture of fear and excitement runs through you.

If you are married, or with a partner, even if they hate golf, they will be so grateful for you bringing them on this Canada Golf Vacation, that each time you spend 4 or 5 hours on the course, they will be quite content to sample the masses of sightseeing opportunities to be done here. And as an added bonus, it is said that the reason so many hundreds of thousands of honeymooners head for this area, is that the negative ions that are released from all this tumbling water, acts as an aphrodisiac – so watch out – you may be in for a better time than you thought.

The whole area caters for between 14 and 18 million people every year, on both the American and Canadian side, so you can see that as a golf vacation area; this is a superb location to head for. Thanks to the actions of Frederick Law Olmstead, a famous landscape artist way back in the 1800’s, he was instrumental in stopping massive industrial development, was instrumental in the setting up of a 200 acre Niagara Reservation State Park, so you can see all of this natural beauty, without having to peer round ugly industrial complexes.

Because of this, to cater for so many tourists and golfer alike, there is an amazing range of hotels, both high rise and low slung, to cater for every taste and budget.

So, if you are looking for a really great weekend break, or even longer, Niagara Falls is definitely somewhere you should seriously consider for your next Canada Golf Vacation

A Golf Vacation To Rival Hilton Head

Sunday, April 5th, 2009
Gentle Island asked:

Imagine an island golf destination that has been voted number one in its nation - not once, but twice in a row. Imagine more than 26 golf courses on that island. Imagine vistas of white, champagne, pink and red beaches; or ocean waters extending far, far beyond the horizon. Imagine a day of golf that leads gracefully into a night of fine seafood dining at a five-star golf resort.

The island isn’t Hilton Head, its Prince Edward Island…and the country is, of course, Canada.

A Prince Edward Island golf vacation offers ocean panoramas and courses created by renowned designers including Robinson, Hurdzan and Fry, Tom McBoom and others.

Crowbush Cove, boasting 18 holes over 6,901 yards, features nine water holes and eight holes near the famous dunes on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. World famous, it has been awarded a 5-star rating from Golf Digest and is listed among the “Sweet Sixteen” top courses worldwide.

From sunrise to sunset your choice of fairways for your PEI golf vacation comes with any number of backdrops including coastal dunes, breathtaking ocean views, and lush forests and rolling farmland. Wildlife abounds and you may well catch a peek at the endangered Piping Plover.

A vacation in the smallest of Canada’s provinces need not be limited to golf. Prince Edward Island teems with as much or as little activity as desired. From simple walks along miles and miles of beaches, to hikes along nature trails; from cycling tours to paddling or deep sea fishing, there is something for every outdoor enthusiast.

Shopping, arts, crafts, music festivals and the finest of seafood dining are also requisites for any Prince Edward Island vacation be it golf or otherwise.

And as varied as your choice of golf courses for the duration of your vacation are the accommodation options offered by the island. From campgrounds to bed and breakfast through hotels and the finest of five star resorts, your vacation is truly your own creation.

This summer, set a course for a golf vacation to rival that of Hilton Head. Make it a Prince Edward Island golf vacation.
