i will be able to apply for my aarp card at this time, but i choose to do a vacation instead-catch some rays by a pool or beach w/cocktails while my significant plays golf. MOST important is details on your experience(s).

Perhaps you can find someone to discuss the issue with over the phone at one of these sites, who can help you select the best golf course for yourself or for your travel partner. San Antonio has many golf resorts that have top rated courses near them. The Hyatt Hill Country Resort is out near Sea World and has an incredible outdoor area including many pool, a lazy river, hot tubs and recreational activities.
There are many golf courses near there, including La Cantera, which has three courses. The Palmer course is supposed to be world class, I have not played it though (I am too cheap).

Myrtle Beach SC is usually warm enough by then. Springbreakers are usually gone by then and you can get some phenominal packages on oceanfront hotels with golf included. There are over 120 courses so you can play just about any type of course.
