Best Golf + Wine Vacations east of the Mississippi?

I live in Kentucky & want to plan a vacation around golfing & drinking wine. However, I am trying to be as low-budget on travel expenses. What is the best spot east of the Mississippi River? Where is the best of both worlds without going to the West Coast??

      Pinehurst, NC. The premier course is expensive but the others are reasonable.

      If you need to tour the vineyards, try upstate NY. Good golf, too.
